We are delighted to welcome Jess to the China Plate team.
Over the next couple of months, as part of a B-Experienced internship from the University of Birmingham, Jess will be working with us on a multi-year co-creation project – stay tuned for more information!
Can you introduce yourself?
Hi, I’m Jess, and I am a third year Music and Math’s student at the University of Birmingham. I enjoy playing the flute in the university orchestra and being able to perform with my friends. I love literature, theatre and musicals.
If you were to describe your character in three words, what would they be?
Curious, easy-going, and adventurous.
What are you hoping to do when you graduate from university?
I am hoping to pursue a career in music management or event production within the arts sector. I love working with artists and surrounding myself with creative minds.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Some of my family lives in France which has given me a love of French language, food and culture. I love to adventure into the countryside and drag my friends, family and partner on long hikes. In my downtime, I bake, read and play board games with friends.
What excites you about working with China Plate?
I am excited to immerse myself in the life of a Producing Assistant and learn how to effectively deliver a project involving community co-creation. I look forward to improving my marketing skills, honing research skills and learning to coordinate within a professional arts team. I am excited to learn the cutting-edge process behind China Plate’s community inspired artistry.
